Professor emeritus Heinz Brandl delivered a lecture on topic: "Structures in unstable soil and rock slopes (Retaining structures, bridges, earth structures)" on 23rd of November 2017 at the Faculty of mining, geology and civil engineering, University of Tuzla. Professor emeritus Heinz Brandl, dipl. civil eng., has been awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Science in Geotechnics, for the great contributions to the development of energy ground structures, continuous compaction control, geosynthetics, freezing-thawing behaviour of soil’s research, cellular double-wall vertical barriers for landfills, geotechnics in the modern infrastructure, as well as, for the active collaboration with the researchers and contribution to the development of geotechnics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and at the University of Tuzla.

Professor Norikazu Shimizu from the Yamaguchi University in Japan, delivered a lecture on topic: "Monitoring subsidence and landslides process using satellite technology" on November 16, 2017 at the Faculty of mining, geology and civil engineering, University of Tuzla.
The seventh scientific and expert conference, GEO-EXPO 2017, was held in the Hotel Hollywood congress center in Sarajevo on 26th and 27th of October 2017.
The GEO-EXPO 2017 conference themes: “Geotechnics, Roads, Mines and Environmental Engineering” attracted over 150 participants from the world and region. Keynote presentations were delivered by invited lecturers: Prof. Charlie C. LI (Norway), Prof. Marui Hideaki (Japan), Prof. Monica Barbero and Prof. Andrea Segalini (Italy).
27 papers by prominent lecturers, professors and experts from the world and the region were published. Nine expert companies from Europe and U.S.A., involved in geotechnics, have presented their latest technologies, products and projects implemented all over the world.
Conference tours/professional visit to the Corridor Vc construction site nearby Zenica took place on the second day of the conference.

GEO-EXPO 2016 Scientific and Expert Conference in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 7 - 8 October 2016
GEO-EXPO 2016, the sixth Scientific and Expert Conference, was held at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in University campus in Banja Luka on 7th and 8th of October 2016.
The conference was organized by Geotechnical Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy was the co-organizer of the event. More than 100 participants from Japan, Russia, Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the Conference.
At the opening ceremony, the President of the Geotechnical Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Sabid Zekan, welcomed the delegates and invited Prof. Norikazu Shimizu, the ISRM Vice President, to address to the conference participants.
Geotechnics, Ecological Engineering and Sustainable Development were the conference themes.
The participants benefited from five keynote lectures, presented by distinguished professionals from Japan, Russia, Croatia and Slovenia: Prof.dr.sc. Norikazu Shimizu, ISRM Vice President, Prof.dr.sc. Marui Hideaki, Prof.dr.sc. Larisa Nazarova, Dr.sc. Jasminka Alijagić and Prof.dr.sc. Mensur Mulabdić.
The president of Society’s Assembly, mr.sc. Amer Džindo and Prof. dr. Mato Uljarević president of Organizing committee took a moment to acknowledge and recognize the contribution of the distinguished professionals in the field of Geotechnics in Bosnia and Herzegovina and awarded the plaques on behalf of Society.
“Euro norms in geotechnics and the application in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was the topic of the round table discussion on second day of the conference. Prof. Ivan Vrkljan, the President of Croatian Geotechnical Society, run the discussion and talked the brief history, present and future of Euro Code 7.
Upon the conference closure, the delegates were offered to join a professional tourist visit to the Banja Luka - Doboj highway facilities.

GEO-EXPO 2015 was held in Zenica
The fifth scientific-expert symposium GEO-EXPO 2015 was held in the premises of the Polytechnic University of Zenica on 18th and 19th September 2015. The symposium was organized by the Geotechnical Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Golden and special plaques had been awarded to Society's members for their dedication in development of the field of geotechnics and continious support to Geotechnical society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Golden plaque had been awarded to professor PhD Milan Stevic, dipl. mining engineer, and honorable membership plaque to professor PhD Zijad Ibrišimović, dipl. mining engineer.
Society's Friendship plaques were awarded to Tvornica cementa Kakanj d.d. (Cement Factory Kakanj, Inc.) and Geoinvest d.o.o. Sarajevo (Geoinvest company, ltd.).

Annual General meeting of the Geotechnical Society of Bosnia and was held on Saturday, 19 September. M.Sc. Amer Džindo, dipl. engineer of geology, was elected for the President of the Assembly of the Geotechnical Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The theme of roundtable was The methodology and legal regulations in the area of landslide research, design and stabilization. It had been discussed about the contractors licenses that are required at the level of the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Afterwards, the participants of GEO-EXPO 2015 visited the Vranduk medieval town.
